rusting chalice

ah quiet, ah serenity
ah blessed loneliness
bring death on swift wings
kiss me softly and hold me close
there is naught to fear...
the end is near...

where is thine saviour now
to save thee from destruction
sink a dagger deep through my heart
and pull it out, swiftly, painfully
the blood drips, my life is naught
leave me be, and we shall see
what my end hath brought

bring now, my rusting chalice
full of thine blood, thy life
and leave thine heart and soul
though life and death, you'll need it not
drink now and you'll be free
leave your heart and soul to me....
